İngilizce geçmiş zamanda devamlılık

 

 Past continuous tense, ingilizce geçmişte devamlılık gösteren tensdir. 

 
Geçmişte başlayıp, hala devam eden işleri ingilizce olarak anlatmak için past continuous tense kullanılır.

Past continuous tense konu anlatımı 

Past continuous tense geçmişte devamlılık gösteren bir işi ifade eder.  
Bir iş geçmişte başlamış ve hala devam ediyorsa onu Past continuouns tense ile anlatırız.
 

 

Past continuous tense cümlelere türkçede sürekli geçmiş veya şimdiki zamanın hikâyesi diyoruz. Bir diğer değişle Past continuous tense cümleler bir işin, bir zamandan beri yapılmakta olduğunu bildirirler diyebiliriz.

Ben bir kitap yazıyordum. 

 

Past continuous tense olumlu cümleler

Past continuous tense cümleler, önce özne, sonra yardımcı fiil, ardından fiilin ing takısı almış hali ve gerekirse tümleç eklenerek kurulur.

She was a little girl five years ago.
Beş sene önce o küçük bir kızdı. 
 

It was raining yesterday.
Dün yağmur yağıyordu.
 

He was listening to Justin Timberlake's new album.
Justin Timberlake'in yeni albümünü dinliyordu. 

The eartquahe was scaring all of us. 
Deprem hepimizi korkutuyordu. 

They were watching the Jey Leno Show. 
Jey Leno’nun programını izliyorlardı.  

 

  

Past continuous tense ile zaman zarfı  

  
*zaman belirten kelimeler, cümlede farklı yerlere gelebilir.  

I was sleeping when you came.
Sen geldiğinde ben uyuyordum.

 

I was reading an interesting book, last night.
Geçen akşam, ilginç bir kitap okuyordum.

 
You felt asleep while we were watching the TV. 
Biz televizyon izliyorken sen uyuyakaldın. 

He was going to school last year. 
Geçen yıl okula gidiyordu.

We were talking about the exam before the recreation. 
Teneffüsten önce sınav hakkında konuşuyorduk.

Past continuous tense ile olumsuz cümle

 

Past continuous tense olumsuz cümleler, önce özne, sonra yardımcı fiilinin olumsuz şekli ve ardından asıl fiil ve gerekirse tümleç eklenerek kurulur.

Past continuous tense cümlelerin olumsuz şeklini bir tablo halinde görelim.

My sister was sleeping when I entered the room.
Ben odaya girdiğimde kızkardeşim uyuyordu.

 

The nurse wasn't whistling. 
Hemşire ıslık çalmıyordu. 

 

It wasn't raining. 
Yağmur yağmıyordu. 

 

Me and my collegue were sharing the office. 
Ben ve iş arkadaşım ofis odasını paylaşıyorduk.

My mother wasn't calling me during the meeting.
